The digital arrival declaration is the electronic arrival card that every foreign traveller entering South Korea must complete, whether arriving by air or by sea. It combines your immigration details (identity, flight details, accommodation) and a short health declaration into a single online system, designed to simplify the process and speed up checks at the airport.
You may also see it called the electronic arrival card or online arrival form — these all refer to the same submission, managed by Korea Immigration Service. The electronic arrival card applies to all foreign nationals not exempted by a valid travel authorisation; South Korean citizens are exempt.
electronic travel authorisation (Korea Electronic Travel Authorization) is a travel authorisation applied for before boarding, valid for up to 2 years: once approved, it exempts you from completing the arrival form on each entry. Since 2023, this requirement has been suspended until 31 December 2026 for travellers from many countries, including France, Belgium, Switzerland and Canada. In practice: without travel authorisation, the electronic arrival card remains mandatory within the 3 days before your arrival, regardless of your nationality.
